Truth is treason in an empire of lies

It starts gradually so that no one really pays attention to it, but little by little, personal freedoms are subtly taken away until society wakes to the fact that they have gone. The playbook is age-old: exert control over the masses by removing individualism, starting with freedom of expression. It is only when speaking the truth becomes a violation that the realization of authoritarianism incites rebellion.
