Speak in tongues

It has been long believed that when someone in a trance starts to speak an unknown language, it is a message being channeled from a spiritual entity. The theory is that apparent fluency in a dialect that is foreign to our worldly languages points to a message from a non-worldly realm. An alternative theory to speaking in tongues is that whoever is voicing it has invented it in an episode of outright insane delusion.
