When the subject is nuanced, there is nothing worse than someone claiming to find the meaning by stating the clear and obvious. Progress in understanding of how things are and what they might mean is not derived from what is evident but what might lie behind the façade. Merely describing what can be immediately observed serves no other purpose than to create sound bites that are of no use to anyone.
