It's curious how mythological icons are created through religion to symbolize altruistic concepts when those very religions are the source of so much dysfunction. Creating an image of something wholesome and pure is a way to force a brand image onto the masses and is the same with just about any marketing strategy. It would be nice sometimes to pull back the veil on patriotic symbolism to see what the real traits are of those who promote it.
