It’s funny how religion can be interpreted as an open ticket to act as one desires, without regard for others or the consequences of egotistical actions. It is, after all, the premise of guaranteed forgiveness that removes any sense of guilt or shame in acting in a selfish manner. The irony of divine protection has a habit of giving believers a false sense of security to behave however they want, even if despised by others.
