Cats perfected the art of indifference long before humans started overanalyzing it. To them, the world is a stage, and they are unbothered by drifting through life with the serene confidence of creatures who owe no one an explanation. Our opinions and desperate attempts to get their attention are background noise to a species that evolved to be self-sufficient and gloriously self‑centered. A cat doesn’t ignore us out of malice; it simply operates on a higher plane of only caring when it feels like it, which is conveniently almost never.
