Fairytales

It has been a long tradition in many different cultures to recount stories of mythical beings and spirits who possess powers that transcend those of mere humans. The concept is appealing, as it invokes a sense of fantastical hope that our own struggles might some day be alleviated. Placing aspirations in make-believe personas may provide a short-term escape from reality, but it certainly won’t change it.
