The rise of automated teaching solutions seems like a great idea to remove the need for human intervention in educational scenarios but comes with some important trade-offs. One can argue that resources are saved and prejudices are removed by replacing humans with machines for care giving and educational roles, however it fails to acknowledge that learning is also about creative thought and emotional support. In a world where we replace everything with algorithms, we lose the most important part of what it is to be human: the empathy and compassion that only human connection can deliver.
