Dying Freedom

There is an irony that quickly loses its humor when authoritarian systems claim to support individual liberties while at the same time persecuting those who disagree with their policies. It is an old playbook whereby the people are made to believe that they are free while being closely monitored and controlled through targeted messaging. Freedom has always had a hard time prevailing through times of conflict, but it always wins in the end through a concerted effort of the oppressed.
